Metro Church Vision
Pitch Deck 2025
Here’s the live stream of Vision Sunday where we share our heart behind the “Next Season Dreams”

the dream
The dream that Jesus has for His church is a family that is radically welcoming and diverse. That challenging dream is worthy of our pursuit, we are created for community!
As we pursue that great ideal, we have encountered some barriers to that dream, and we believe that God is asking us to take steps of faith that will bear real fruit!
the challenges
1. Our Sunday morning gatherings are at full capacity, with 500 people attending, and we’re excited by the growing community of new people connecting with Jesus.
2. Our children’s ministry is overflowing, but we lack enough volunteers to provide the care and education we want for them. Many adults prefer attending the gathering, making it difficult to serve our kids well.
3. There is no space for our unhoused community to engage in our gathering. We deeply desire to love this community well, and that requires that there are trauma- informed spaces for them to feel safe and welcome. Many of our unhoused community arrive after 10:00 AM, and there is simply nowhere to sit.
4. One of our core values is interactive gatherings with diverse voices, but with the large attendance and time constraints for children’s ministry, it’s becoming harder to fulfill this value.

the opportunities
To address space limits, volunteer shortages, and a need for more interactive gatherings, we’re considering adding a second service.
An idea we have is to have a gathering at 9:00 AM that would look much like the present gathering, and with children’s ministry. After this gathering, we would do an incredible brunch with pancakes, sausage, fruit, and all the fixings, which doubles as a connection point between the two services.
Within this model, we would also do a second gathering at 11:00 AM. It would have the same teaching component, with more opportunity for extended worship, and more time for interactive sharing like sharing scripture, open mic, and corporate prayer. With no children’s ministry at this time, the service could be longer. This gathering would also serve as a pick-up point for our unhoused community, allowing us to expand shuttle routes to shelters, which many have requested.
This model would also enable more people to volunteer in children’s ministry during the first service and attend the second.
1.
We envision multiple connection points for spiritual growth. On Sundays, we want to start Street Teams at 9:30 AM, visiting tent city to offer essentials, create relationships, and invite people to Metro for a meal and the gathering. A Prayer Room beside the stage in the Hub is another dream, providing a space for prayer before and during gatherings. Prayer is essential to our family, and we would love to see many people encounter the love of Jesus every week! Lastly, we hope to set up an art space at both gatherings to help people express and share their connection with Jesus through art, and we want to help people express themselves and share that art with the whole community!
2.
Our church family is more than just a Sunday gathering, so we want to focus on midweek connections to help the community grow in a deeper knowledge of the Father. On a weekday night, we'd love to start “Deeper” Bible studies with Levi Simpson, covering topics like the Old Testament and New Testament books in six-week series. Between these, we plan to offer Alpha to help new believers grow in faith and community. We're also dreaming of a young families group, a 55+ Club, and Junior High Ministries. We also want to put increased emphasis on vulnerable women’s nights at Metro Central, and add nights for our unhoused men. A church family is a thriving and evolving community, and we are always open to further ways to create connections… we are calling this our Clubs program, and we are always open to new ideas!
