Would you consider joining us at the gala?

There are a couple of options... You can buy a table of 8 and invite your friends, OR pay for your own chair(s) individually.  It's up to you! (Please note that a promo code can be issued for those who would like to buy a table but will pay later by emailing joel@metrocommunity.ca)

The Opportunities

1. Shelter diversion mobile case worker

The Shelter Diversion Program has helped 114 people exit homelessness, and facilitated 59 housing loss preventions in this last year alone. This program is transforming our city! However, our case workers are at capacity and are unable to assist any more people. Also, many unhoused people are now living in many different parts of the city and are unable to access these services at Metro.

A new mobile caseworker will allow us to serve and rehouse even more people. We can imagine a city where no one has to sleep outside!

2. Metro Central expansion of care

We are bursting at the seams! The demand for Metro Central’s services has grown significantly. In the last year alone, we have been feeding and welcoming 40% more people at our drop-in center, and 60% more people are accessing services through our Hygiene Program!  To meet these urgent demands, we desperately need to increase staffing levels and required supplies.

Metro Central is a critical service to the vulnerable in our city. Since launching our membership program in 2021, 1,426 individuals have become members and have received vital care.

3. Metro women’s services

Unhoused women face heightened risks, particularly during extreme weather, which often leads to increased rates of assault and abuse. We plan to offer an Emergency Cold Weather Mat Program, providing safety and shelter during these critical times. Additionally, our new monthly “Women’s Nights” create safe, supportive spaces for connection and care. These initiatives will address a critical gap in services for vulnerable women in our community.
