about us

we are a community from all walks of life, created in the image of God, pursuing the hope of Jesus, where the vulnerable are held at our center.

We exist to seek God, pursue truth, in an atmosphere of love,
where judgement is left at the door.

Much of what we do happens at Metro Central.

  • Metro Cafe is a place where anyone can come and receive free food and drink, use the washroom, and relax in a safe space away from the elements. Right outside, the Courtyard offers plenty of seating, sports equipment, heaters in winter, and cooling misters in summer.

  • The Hygiene Program offers showers, laundry service, more bathrooms, wound-care, free clothing, computer use, and more. The program was formed in 2021 to address some major needs in our community.

  • Shelter Hub offers housing support and referrals for people who are unhoused, at risk of eviction, or marginally housed. They may provide transportation funding to reconnect with natural supports. In partnership with NOW Canada, CMHA Kelowna, Metro Community, and BC Housing.

  • Our offices are upstairs in this building.

  • Event Space - The Metro Hub is an event rental venue for public and private events, where the funds raised are used to help support the services of Metro Community. For all event rental inquiries, head to metrohub.ca →

  • Metro Church meets every Sunday in the Metro Hub, at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM with brunch in between at 10:15 AM.

meet our team

We have an amazing, (if slightly mad) bunch who make it their business to serve and love our community! Some are full time, some are part-time, but we are most certainly - a team!

despite the apparent affluence of our city, many people living in kelowna are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of being homeless.

  • It means that within a 30-60 day period of losing a steady income stream, an “at risk” individual cannot reasonably afford rent or secure accommodation and will be forced to use shelters or sleep rough.

As a community, Metro is committed to working alongside the City of Kelowna and numerous other agencies to help some of the most vulnerable among us

be a part of the story

All the different ministries at Metro represent excellent ways to get involved with our growing community. We would be happy to hear about your passion and connect you to areas at Metro that would be most fulfilling to you and most meaningful to the community.

get involved

Getting involved with Metro can be as easy as a clothing donation or as involved as a regular volunteer position. In either case, we are excited to have your partnership and support.
